The Udzungwa Mountains protect Eastern Arc forest with waterfalls, endemic wildlife and walking trails. Most shorter visits focus on the Mang’ula side of the national park and Sanje Waterfall. This is a forest-hiking experience rather than a Kilimanjaro-style summit expedition.

Access the Mang’ula area by road from Mikumi or other southern-circuit stops. Our short programmes start near Mikumi; longer Dar es Salaam connections can be added. Conditions are warm and humid, with slippery trails after rain. Drier months often make walking easier, but forest rain is possible in any month.
Walkers, birdwatchers and safari travellers wanting time on foot. Trail choice should match your fitness and balance. Families can request a shorter walk; the full Sanje climb has sustained uphill and uneven sections.
Walk through Eastern Arc forest to Sanje Waterfall, with a comfortable foothill base and time to enjoy the forest atmosphere.
Best for: Guide-led programme; dates, conditions and the final quotation are confirmed before booking.
