Option 1 — Add a nightdrive to your safari
Travel through Tarangire on your usual safari route and enjoy the planned daytime activities. Stay inside the park or close to an accessible entrance, selected around the confirmed night-drive meeting point. After a break and dinner at a time agreed with your guide, join the authorised night drive. Return to your accommodation to sleep, then continue your safari the next day.
Option 2 — Evening return trip from Arusha
We can collect you from your Arusha hotel at around 5:00 p.m., or earlier to allow for traffic and the confirmed meeting time. Tarangire is roughly 120 km from Arusha, with about 2.5 hours as a planning estimate on the main paved road; your actual journey depends on the hotel, road and meeting point.
After arrival, join the arranged night drive. The activity may last approximately 2–4 hours when that duration is offered for your date. Your driver then returns you to Arusha late at night, potentially after midnight. We confirm whether this same-night return is practical before booking, and may recommend an overnight stay instead.
Option 3 — Day and night safari with an overnight stay
Day 1: Travel from Arusha to Tarangire for an afternoon daytime game drive. Check in at a lodge or camp inside or near the park, take a break, then join the arranged night drive before returning to your accommodation.
Day 2: After breakfast, return to Arusha or continue your safari. An onward Zanzibar connection can be arranged separately to match your schedule; flights are not automatically included.
Daytime and night-time viewing
By day, guides can scan broad landscapes and pause to observe birds and grazing wildlife. After dark, visibility narrows to the route and permitted lighting, while sounds and different animal behaviour come forward. Low-light photography can be challenging. Your guide follows the applicable rules for lighting, routes and respectful wildlife viewing. Every sighting depends on nature.
