Cookies & Embedded Content
This page explains how to control optional content on the Tartaruga Safaris website. Updated 19 September 2026.
What cookies do
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by your browser. They can support login sessions, remember settings or enable third-party services. The cookies used depend on the features you open and whether you are signed in.
WordPress login and administration
Our website uses WordPress. Signing in can create authentication cookies and cookies that remember administrative preferences. You do not need a WordPress account to browse our tour pages or send an enquiry. Read the WordPress cookie documentation for details.
Optional Facebook updates
The Facebook section on our homepage starts with a Load Facebook updates button. We do not load that Facebook frame until you select the button. Loading it connects your browser to Meta, which may receive your IP address and browser information and use cookies under its own policies. You can use our website without loading the feed.
Closing the Facebook feed
Select Close Facebook feed to remove the embedded frame from the page. This stops that embedded view but does not delete cookies already stored by Meta. Use your browser’s site-data controls or Facebook privacy settings to manage those cookies. We do not remember your feed-loading choice between visits.
External links and services
Our Contact page also contains an embedded Google Map showing Arusha. The map can load as you scroll to that section, connecting your browser to Google without a separate load button. This differs from the optional Facebook feed. You can contact us by email or WhatsApp for meeting-point details. Our other links to social platforms, maps and payment providers take you to services controlled by those providers. Their privacy and cookie policies apply when you open them. You can contact us by email if you prefer help with an itinerary without using social media.
Your browser controls
You can review, block or delete cookies in your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking all cookies may affect login and some third-party features. Removing site data does not withdraw an enquiry you have already sent; contact us about any personal information request.
