Our Tanzania Safari Vehicles
Travel through Tanzania in a safari-adapted 4×4 Toyota Land Cruiser with Tartaruga Safaris. Our vehicles combine raised wildlife viewing, comfortable seating and practical storage for the journey between parks and camps.

A window seat and room to enjoy the journey
We normally plan for six guests in the safari vehicle, with a window seat for each traveller. Your driver-guide has a separate driving position. A seventh guest can be considered only after confirming the vehicle’s seating, seat belts, luggage space and viewing position. We agree the actual seating arrangement before you book.
Pop-up roof for wildlife viewing
The roof hatch opens for wildlife observation and photography, giving you a wider view of the landscape. Our driver-guide explains when and how to use the viewing area. Remain seated with your seat belt fastened while the vehicle is travelling, and follow your guide’s directions during wildlife stops.
Comfortable seats and practical storage
Padded seats and space for your day bag help make longer journeys more comfortable. The vehicle has luggage storage, but capacity depends on your group size and equipment. Tell us about large suitcases, camera cases, pushchairs or mobility aids before we confirm your transport.

Cold drinks and charging
A vehicle fridge keeps drinks cool during safari days. Charging sockets let you recharge compatible devices while travelling; bring your charging cable and ask our team about the connections provided. Your itinerary states which drinks are included.
Safety equipment and communication
Our safari vehicles carry seat belts, a first-aid kit and communication equipment. Tell us about children’s ages and any specific seating needs so we can confirm suitable arrangements before departure. Remote-area communications and mobile coverage can vary.

Responsible travel
Onboard rubbish storage helps us keep litter out of Tanzania’s parks and communities. Keep waste in the vehicle until it can be disposed of appropriately, and never feed wildlife.
Your vehicle for your trip
Tell us your group size, luggage, children’s ages and access requirements. For wheelchair access, we check the actual vehicle entry, seat transfer, equipment storage and any required adaptations individually. We do not describe a standard Land Cruiser as wheelchair adapted without those checks.
