Your day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Mikumi area to the Udzungwa foothills

  • Meet your driver at the agreed Mikumi-area point and travel to your lodge near Mang’ula. Enjoy a light afternoon and discuss the next day’s trail with your guide. This programme starts near Mikumi; Dar es Salaam transfers can be added separately. Overnight: Udzungwa-area lodge. Meals: dinner.
Day 2

Sanje Waterfall forest hike

  • Enter Udzungwa Mountains National Park with your guide and follow the Sanje trail through humid forest. The ascent includes steep, uneven and potentially slippery ground; take regular breaks. Enjoy the waterfall viewpoints without approaching unsafe edges. Swimming is only considered if permitted and judged safe locally. Meals: breakfast and packed lunch. Return to your agreed Mikumi-area drop-off point. No overnight stay included tonight.
