Privacy Policy
Updated 18 September 2026.
Tartaruga Safaris Limited respects the personal information you share when enquiring about or booking a journey. This notice explains our handling of that information and how to contact us.
Who is responsible
Tartaruga Safaris Limited, P.O. Box 14006, Arusha, Tanzania, is responsible for the personal information it uses to answer your enquiry and arrange your booking. Contact info@tartarugasafaris.com about this notice or a privacy request.
Information relevant to your journey
We may receive your name, contact details, country, travel dates, party size, children’s ages, itinerary preferences and correspondence. A confirmed reservation may require additional passenger or identification details from a carrier, accommodation or authority. Provide other travellers’ information only with appropriate authority.
Why we use it
We use relevant details to respond, prepare quotations, make agreed reservations, arrange travel services, manage payments and resolve questions or complaints. Depending on the applicable law and purpose, processing may be needed for requested pre-contract steps, a booking contract, legal obligations, legitimate service and security interests, or your consent.
Practical and sensitive requirements
Food, access or assistance requests can reveal sensitive information. Share only what is necessary through an agreed private channel. We explain necessary supplier sharing and seek explicit consent where required. Do not send diagnoses, passport scans or payment-card details through the general enquiry form.
Service providers and recipients
Relevant information may be shared with the guides, hotels, airlines, transport providers and other suppliers needed for your agreed trip. Website hosting, email and payment providers may process information for their services. We limit sharing to the purpose involved and do not sell enquiry information.
Payments and external services
Use only the payment instructions provided with your verified booking. Payment providers handle their own transaction and card-processing systems. If you choose WhatsApp, email, a social platform or another external link, that provider’s own privacy practices also apply.
International processing
Bookings and digital services can involve recipients in Tanzania and other countries. Where cross-border safeguards are legally required, the relevant arrangements must be used. Ask us for information about the recipients and safeguards applicable to your booking.
How long information is retained
We keep information while needed to handle the enquiry, deliver the trip and address follow-up matters. Booking, accounting and dispute records may need longer retention for applicable obligations. Unneeded information should be deleted or anonymised; retention depends on the record’s purpose and legal requirements.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access or correct your information, request deletion or restriction where applicable, object to certain uses and withdraw consent for consent-based processing. Applicable law may also provide portability and complaint rights. We may need proportionate identity verification before acting on a request. Contact us first, or approach the relevant data-protection authority, including Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Commission.
Marketing and children
An enquiry is not permission to receive unrelated marketing. Any optional marketing choice should be separate and unticked by default, with an easy way to unsubscribe. Adults should submit bookings and relevant details on behalf of accompanying children.
Security and updates
Access should be limited to authorised people who need the information for their work. No internet transmission can be promised completely secure. We update this notice when our services or information practices change and publish the revised date with the live notice.
