Check your Kilimanjaro packing list before departure
Lay everything out and walk with the packed day bag. Keep essentials, waterproofs and warm layers where you can reach them. Your main expedition bag is carried separately and may not be available during the walking day. Avoid relying on new boots that have never been worn on a long hike.
Ask for the current rental list early. A mention of equipment in a packing guide does not mean it is included in the package. Confirm sizes, quantities, costs and collection arrangements in writing. Leave unnecessary valuables and bulky luggage in the agreed town storage arrangement.
Plan beyond your equipment
Use this Kilimanjaro packing list alongside the route comparison and Kilimanjaro FAQs. Your guide will review the daily requirements at the pre-climb briefing. Consult Tanzania National Parks for official visitor information.
Plan smarter. Travel better.
Tell our Tartaruga Safaris team your dates, previous trekking experience and number of travellers. We will help you choose a realistic route and prepare a written quotation.
